AVID Excel Curriculum

Our AVID program celebrated its 10th year in 2016 and was just awarded the AVID Site of Distinction Certification.  This certification is the highest certification that AVID awards and only two Pomona Schools have earned it.  Our Program consists of 4 sections of AVID for 7th and 8th graders and 2 sections of AVID Excel designed specifically for English Learners.     Students learn Cornell Note Taking, Lead our school wide binder program, and learn to work collaboratively in tutorials. Our 8th graders culminate their program with a 2 night overnight trip to UC Berkeley and the University of Stanford.
